Trip to Tallinn Workshop at the Estonian Museum of Natural History Photos https://www.loodusmuuseum.ee/en/front-page On the fifth day, we went to the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. Our workshop venue on this day was the Estonian Museum of Natural History. In the first workshop, we played environmental games about local nature problems and how to solve them. In groups, we had to discuss the ways to solve different environmental problems. For example, if toxic chemicals get into the forest somewhere, what would be the right thing to do? In the course of the workshop, we discussed the most important problems of nature preservation and ways to solve them. The second workshop was about the natural life of the Baltic Sea: which species live in the sea and which sea plants are common there. We also got to know what we can do on a daily basis to make the Baltic Sea more sustainable. In that workshop we got to taste one particular type of seaweed, it was salty but extremely healthy. Presentations about Sustainability in Haapsalu Presentations about our field trips Photos and videos On the fourth day, we were separated into teams and had three workshops at school. The first workshop was preparing to present our case on whether Haapsalu is a sustainable town. Later, we made presentations about the second day's Adventures in the Silma educational center and the third day's field trip to Veskijärve-Nõva-Peraküla. The presentations had to include information about what we got to know and did there during these days. In the second workshop, each team had to present both of their presentations. Finally, in the third workshop, we made Instagram reels from the pictures we had taken throughout the conference. In the evening we had a final party in the school's cellar. We ate pizza and pretzels and played a few group games: Kahoot, hide-and-seek, and the chair game.

  Field trip to Veskijärve-Nõva-Peraküla - photos During the field trip, we will learn about logging, well-preserved old forests, and burnt forest areas. We will hike in the habitats of the very rare species and see that cutting down trees is necessary to protect them. On the third day, we had our second field trip to the area of ​​Nõva. Our first stop was at the Dunes of Veskijärve, where a big forest fire happened several years ago. Our guide Marko Valker talked about rare species living in this special environment, and we saw the enormous fire-damaged area. We have also learned that the forest fire created beneficial conditions for some local species. Then we drove to the Nõva nature preservation area and went on a little hike there. We talked about the importance of biodiversity in the forest and how it has been rapidly decreasing in the last centuries due to random cutting. We learned about the nature and wildlife of coastal meadows and how Sustainability plays an essential part in preserving them. Our guide was Marko Valker, who is a researcher and educationalist at Silma.  Firstly, we watched a presentation about the coastal area by Marko Valker. Then we went on a hike and investigated the local coastal meadows. The route we took was pretty challenging and we had to be very careful not to get soaking wet during it.
