Teachers' Prepatory Meeting in Tampere
The teachers' prepatory meeting took place between 5th December and 8th December 2022. We all met in Tampere as we had received Nordplus funding for the prepatory meeting. Here are some of the highlights of the meeting.
6th December 2022
After meeting, greeting and updating on the latest developments in each school, we started working on the Nordplus application. As 6th December is the independence day in Finland, the school was completely empty and we had plenty of room to spread out and work.
We had lunch in Nanda Devi, a nice Indian restaurant and resumed working in the afternoon. We finished around 5pm, and met up again in the evening at 6.30pm to have dinner at restaurant Kumma, which played interesting 70s pop music.
7th December 2022
We met outside the hotel at 8.30am and started to walk to the headoffice of the Tampere region central wastewater treatment plant. We were met by the environmental engineer Eveliina Langenoja who presented the plans for the new plant in Sulkavuori.
After the presentation we were transported to the construction site to visit the cave. Very interesting!
We then returned back to the head office to collect our regular shoes and return our construction gear and had lunch. We resumed working at 1pm and managed to finish on time.
Our final program of the day consisted of having dinner in restaurant Maranga with the school vice-principal.
8th December 2022
The Danes and the Estonians headed home very early on Thursday. The Danes' plane was delayed because of icy conditions but everyone got home safe and sound in the end.
